>>2485892>healers are definitely unappreciated
Eh. Healers generally get the least heat when it comes to pinning the blame on somebody. Healers are also less restricted in their choices, since all healers are viable in the vast majority of ranks, with some falling off the grid only in high GM-top 500.
The problem with Mercy one tricks was that they gained a disproportionate amount of SR compared to some tanks, flex players or other support mains despite playing a hero requiring very basic mechanical skills. Everybody has to think about positioning; everybody needs a good game sense to perform well; every healer with the exception of maybe Lucio needs to be aware of flankers. But all of them have something else to manage: Ana's healing is "finite" in a sense that she has to reload every 10 shots, and her reload time is just long enough to matter, Zen's mobility is garbage and he has no self-healing outside of shield regeneration, Lucio has to be in the fray and has to manage amps to get the most out of his healing and speed boosts, because his non-amped up healing is negligible. And all of them require aim to not be a waste of slot.
Mercy was just too easy for her potential impact on the game and her SR gains, so people started to dislike Mercy mains, because they saw them as somebody trying to game the system. Which they were, in a way. I'm sure there are plenty of high ranking Mercy mains who are actually amazing and deserve their rank, but this wasn't the case for all of them.>>2485957
Have Ana's changes hit Live yet? If not, Mercy is still better in the risk/reward department.
